  • Are the events free?
    General events are free and open to anyone, members or not. We do have other paid events that require membership like the bus tour, but we'll make sure that you know that it's a paid event.
  • Are the open meetings / events just for members?
    Our open meetings are for everyone, members or not! Although, we're such a friendly bunch that most people become members after an event, but there is no pressure to join. Remember to bring a reusable cup as refreshments are served after the event.
  • Where, when and how long do open events last?
    Our open events are hosted at Albert McCormick Community Center in Waterloo at 500 Parkside Dr, Waterloo, ON N2L 5J4. We usually have an open meeting once a month, except for summer months when we plant and take care of the gardens! Doors open at 7 and the presentations usually last from 7:30-8:30 with Q&A and refreshments afterwards.
  • Does Waterloo Gardeners provide landscaping services?
    Waterloo Gardeners / Waterloo Horticultural Society does not provide landscaping or gardening services. Please contact your local landscaping company for your horticultural needs.
  • What is the Waterloo Horticultural Society?
    Since 1895, the role of the Waterloo Horticultural Society has been to encourage interest in horticulture, ​floral design, nature and the environment, to promote conservation ​ and assist in the beautification of our city. The Waterloo Gardeners maintains two gardens in the City of Waterloo. The gardens are planned and maintained by an amazing group of volunteers. ​Memorial Gardens -30 Erb Street West - between Caroline St. and Albert St., beside the Marsland Centre. Carnegie Green Gardens -35 Albert Street in Waterloo - junction of Albert St. and Dorset St. in Uptown Waterloo.
  • How much is a membership?
    Adult membership is $12 for the year and is valid from January 1st to December 31st. Family membership is $20 for the year and is valid from January 1st to December 31st. When paying online through PayPal or e-transfer, there is a surcharge of $1 per payment.
